Reggio Emilia's night transport goes digital with Clickbus

The city of Reggio Emilia continues to innovate its public transport services, offering modern and efficient solutions for residents. One of their key advancements is the enhancement of the night transport service, "Aladino," which is operated by TIL under the management of Agenzia Mobilità Reggio Emilia.

Previously, the Aladino service was available primarily through phone reservations, and its operational management was handled manually. While the service fulfilled the need for late-night transportation, the process of booking and managing routes was time-consuming and lacked the flexibility that modern technologies can provide.

By introducing the Clickbus app (Android and iOS devices) in response to these challenges, the city has improved the way the Aladino service operates. Through this app, users can now easily book their rides in just a few clicks, and while phone reservations are still required, the process is now much smoother, reducing the need for as many calls. The integration of the app not only simplifies the booking process but also automates route management, optimizing trips and improving the overall efficiency of the service.

One notable feature of the app is its real-time route calculation. Once a user books a ride, the app generates the most efficient route based on the reservations, ensuring that passengers reach their destinations as quickly as possible.

At present, the Aladino service operates with a single vehicle, and the integration of Clickbus makes it a more user-friendly and responsive system that is expected to meet the needs of the night commuters in Reggio Emilia more effectively.

This shift towards digitalization represents a significant step forward for public transport in Reggio Emilia, reflecting a growing trend of modernizing urban mobility services. The Aladino service continues to serve as a key component of the city's commitment to offering accessible and reliable public transport options for all its citizens.
