Shotl is collaborating with MOVENS to make smart cities move

Shotl On-demand Shuttles is collaborating with Henshin Group Ltd. to include DRT and data solutions for Henshin’s smart cities solution, MOVENS, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

MOVENS incorporates all factors essential to the smart city environment. The aim is for MOVENS to become the IoT Hub for smart cities, setting a new standard in the Tech Mobility Market. Its expandable software architecture enables bringing together heterogeneous stakeholders from each functional area in the global market: Mobility, Governance, Energy, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Buildings, Security and Technology. The goal is the complete integration of all the different entities involved in a smart city project.

Shotl is enabling the integration of his advanced platform focused on DRT management into MOVENS. Shotl’s long experience operating flexible transport and supporting public transit based on grouping passengers’ mobility needs means transport authorities and municipalities can rely on our customizable dashboards for real-time maps and virtual stops, monitoring reservations and trip flows, and accessing series of user data that can be used to optimize the service. For example, via reports to visualize O-D and hourly demand patterns, journey durations or average vehicle occupancy With this project, we will integrate this part of our system into the MOVENS platform, so our powerful visualization tools will not only be applicable to DRT, but also to any kind of public transport trip managed by the MOVENS platform.

We fully support Henshin’s initiative and are hoping this partnership will be a success and lead to further projects in Northern Italy and beyond.

The fall of car-centrism

Vehicles designed for shared use are more suited to user-centric mobility. In other words, we should move people, not vehicles. Once we start to understand this concept, we can put vehicles at the service of people.
