There are no modern transit conveniences here—no subway or light rail, just the occasional heavily subsidized bus doing the rounds. Torre Baró is one such neighborhood in Barcelona. When Shotl arrived on the scene, infrequent services were the only option for residents.

Now, with improved access to local shops and services, residents no longer have to take a car to go further afield, which benefits the environment and the local economy.

Andermatt is a Swiss region located near the Italian border which has become popular in recent years as a winter sports and leisure area. At an altitude of 1,447 meters, it has just 1,500 inhabitants, a very low population density. Many inhabitants are workers who live in the valley area and require sustainable transportation to access the upper reaches where the ski resort hotels and shops are located. Until now, in the absence of an alternative, they were forced to use private vehicles for their daily commute.
