During the year now ending, we have been fortunate enough to be able to help many people with their daily mobility needs. People who did not have access to a private vehicle or were located in neighborhoods and cities that only provided low-frequency fixed-route/schedule public transport.
In recent months, Shotl has launched numerous new operations. In Spain, it is worth highlighting the expansion of our business with Public Transport Operator (PTO) TMB in Barcelona. The neighborhoods of Montbau-Vall d'Hebrón, Torre Barró-Vallbona Sud, and, most recently, Sant Gervasi-Galvany have now their own on-demand busses. As a pioneer in experimenting with new forms of mobility, Barcelona now has more on-demand areas in development that are expected to be deployed in the coming weeks.
Still within Spain, in the suburban area of Barcelona, the operation of Can Sunyer started earlier this year. This connected an isolated neighborhood in Castellví de Rosanes with the neighboring town of Sant Andreu de la Barca, where most locals conduct their daily business. And the recent launch of Alhaurín el Grande’s on-demand bus, serving a population of 25,000+ citizens, makes it PTO Avanza's second operation in Malaga province, following the success of connecting the scattered areas in the Andalusian town of Cártama.
Moving to Italy, 2022 has undoubtedly been a year in which the transalpine country has made the leap towards more sustainable transport. We witnessed the return of Pavia’s night bus (discontinued during the pandemic), the extension of the Ravenna area, and the second season of ShuttleMare's summer operation in Rimini, which turned out to be even more successful than in 2021, reaching ridership peaks of 4,000+ passengers per week. This, in addition to new operations in Piacenza, Alto Garda, the urban area of Crema, and, most recently, Cesena, has put Italy firmly on the on-demand Transit map.
And that's not all. In Switzerland, another European on-demand transport stronghold, transport operator mybuxi also chose to strengthen the relationship with Shotl by launching a new service in Belp, adding to those already in place. In parallel, operations started in places as far apart as Japan or Kuwait.
One year ends and another one begins, with new operations, new opportunities, and new learnings. A new journey, full of hope and confidence. Join us on our journey to shape the future of mobility.
